Dear Prabhus and Matajis,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

First of all thank you for maintaining the Chakra website, which gives so many devotees a chance to associate and express their perceptions and feelings on so many issues that we all must face.

My humble request is that perhaps there could be some adjustment in editorial policy. I've noticed over the years that, for me, CHAKRA can be, at best, the source of a lot of spiritual inspiration, or at its worst it can be quite discouraging. I don't think that it's broadly beneficial to individual devotees or for the greater society (which is just made up of a lot of individual devotees J ) to broadcast on the front page some of the conversation threads, especially when the conversation degenerates into bickering and/or criticism especially (however subtle it may be) of our Founder Acarya. This is a very dangerous situation, which requires an utmost sense of responsibility and alert stewardship.

I am not suggesting that anyone take to covertly censoring or becoming politically selective when deciding what to post or what not to post. I am just concerned that many, like myself, look to CHAKRA for a sense of what is going on in our movement. If we see so much infighting and criticism it does, in my opinion and based on my experience, tend to have some unbeneficial effects over time. This is especially true of articles that smack of a lack of understanding and faith in His Divine Grace and his vani.

Perhaps we can strike some balance between having an open forum for Vaisnava discussion and providing a place for devotees to feel free to express their concerns and doubts. When the discussions become sour, I think it is in our best interest to preserve the spirit and culture of our beautiful Gaudiya-Vaisnava inheritance and delegate a separate page for these exchanges as they occur. This would not shut down any conversations but could shield those who are not interested in hearing Vaisnava aparadha.

I would also be very encouraged if you would post this request, along with your response, to the main page of Chakra alongside the other articles.

Dasanudasa,
Ekendra Das
