Chakra Web Editors (Managers),
Please Be Selective

by Muralidhara dasa

I am a Chakra reader since 3-4 years now, and I do think that it is a good web site. But certain things are bothering me and to my understanding many other Chakra readers like me. This is only one practical example: some time ago, I recommended one young devotee to read from time to time Chakra in order to get some association with devotees across the world and see what is new in our society. As we are living in very isolated part of the world where there are no temples and devotees, where 99,9 % of the population are cow eaters and irreligious people, you will be surprised to hear that there are very sincere devotees even in such places only by the mercy of Srila Prabhupada books.

Later on this devotee came to me asking me strange questions after reading the Chakra web site. I understood that I had committed a great mistake. I never should have sent him to Chakra. I should had only suggested him to continue reading Srila Prabhupada books as the only safe boat for crossing over the ocean of misery. Fortunately, I was able to correct my mistake, which I will never commit again, and the young devotee continued his devotional life.

Now, I am E-mailing him and many other devotees selective positive articles from oldchakra.com which will increase our faith, as faith is essential in this age of quarrel. In Kali quarreling is everywhere and we are all expecting some relief, in hope that Chakra and some other web sites can give us such relief and some nice sanga, many times we find the opposite.

This was only one practical example. Now I am asking Chakra people what do you think, how many of such persons had maybe left their devotional service just because they came to understanding about our internal problems? (Which should never be in public) My strong suggestion will be to never post articles which find mistakes in our Acharya like "Can a Guru commit mistake" or debates on "Is Srila Prabhupada Infallible? Or Is he Fallible?" as top News. Can anybody tell me what kind of news is that?

Please, Chakra web managers, if you are in service of our beloved Acharya Srila Prabhupada, and we all know that you are, try to protect our only Acharya from any kind of blasphemy. I know that you have some policy against posting of insulting articles to our Acharya Srila Prabhupada but please try to enforce them even more. Such doubtful articles should be posted separately or in private channels, discussion groups that are very much available in Internet so we should not disturb general population and young members of our society when reading Chakra news.

I don't say that ISKCON is a perfect organization and that we should be blind. I am only suggesting that such doubtful discussion should be in private. I also know that like all medias, Chakra is also looking for some flash news, some controversy which will result in increasing of web readers, but let me ask all of us are we after readers or after service for our community and our most beloved Acharya Srila Prabhupada? If you really want to do some service, please stop posting controversial articles as top news, be selective, think about millions of readers who are maybe for the first time coming in contact with devotional service, think about young members of our society and about senior members who need constant faith to continue with their hard struggle in this material world.

Post positive articles as top News (good example, "Traveling Preacher") which increase our devotional service and faith in this process. Controversial articles full of doubtful quarreling Kali atmosphere can be posted in some corner of your web side or best should be not posted at all. Anyway internet has enough space for them.

I must admit that I was personally disturbed when I read article "Can the Guru make mistake." In search for peace to my disturbance, I tried to talk with my spiritual master and some elder devotees regarding this article and especially the subject "Are women less intelligent then man?"

To my surprise I was nicely informed that women are less intelligent (please try to understand significance of word "less intelligent") in terms of women being less discriminative for what is good and bad then men (example: story of Queen Draupadi and her compassion towards her child murderer Asvatthama, SB 1.7.42). In this sense, women are "less intelligent" and need to be under the protection of somebody— father, brother, husband, guru, proper functional organization, society, government, etc.

But in terms of spiritual life there is no such thing as man or women. We are all equal to the Lord. I do think that many of us had misunderstood this and as the result now we have doubtful articles about our Acharya and his view about women. We all have to come to the understanding that Srila Prabhupada gives us the best and only He can take us to Krsna Loka, nobody else no other so called Maharaja or Swami.

If me as Muslim born completely surrounded by asuras with no sadhu sanga, no temples, no harinam, for 10 years patiently waiting for GBC to make a resolution of accepting my beloved spiritual master HH Maha Vishnu Goswami as ISKCON Diksha Guru, came to this understanding, how much elevated are all of you and what kind of realization have you achieved by practically serving Srila Prabhupada for so many years?

Please, please stop quarreling and criticizing Srila Prabhupada, finding faults in Him, please start co-operating, and please stop looking for other ways to Krsna as there is no other ways accept His lotus feets in this age. At the end, I just hope that you will note my suggestions so that your web site can continue the real purpose of being web side for TI (transcendental information's).

Yours in service of Srila Prabhupada
