“I pray that Prithu Prabhu will be so kind to give this lowly Godsister any small benefit of the doubt that I and so many other devotees are also Srila Prabhupada’s loyal aspiring servants.”

Mulaprakriti responds to Prithu

CHAKRA (Bhaktivedanta Manor, UK) - October 7th, 1999: In a letter submitted to CHAKRA, Mulapakriti apologized to Prithu dasa, but said she had never tried to break anyone’s faith in Srila Prabhupada. (See CHAKRA: Prithu evicts Mulaprakriti)

Prithu Prabhu ordered Mulaprakriti dasi and others to immediately vacate his property in Vrindavan, India because he said they were using it “for their own purposes, breaking the faith of people who come to Vrindavan as a result of Srila Prabhupada’s preaching.” Mulaprakriti denies that she was breaking the faith of anyone.

“Before moving to Prabhupadavani Ashram last month we were informed that Prithu Prabhu’s asrama was available for public rentals, was being sold, and he was not returning,” she says. “As a disciple of Srila Prabhupada I am staying in Sri Vrindavana Dhama working hard on researching a book of nectarean interviews about Srila Prabhupada from many of his early Vaisnava friends. We have consulted on this project with many ISKCON devotees and will donate all profits for the distribution of Srila Prabhupada’s books in schools and libraries throughout India. I was in need of a simple place with a generator to write on the computer.”

She says she is seriously practicing her devotional life and trying to faithfully attend the programs at the ISKCON Krsna Balarama Mandir.

Prithu had said in his article on CHAKRA that the house was his private home. “It is an outrage that you even dare to move into my house to use it for your purposes.”

Mulaprakriti said she never received any direct word at all from Prithu Prabhu except when she was told she had to leave by his manager. She and the one other devotee assisting her “immediately and peacefully moved,” she said. “Sensitive to the controversies, stigmas, and gossip, I had considered writing a personal letter of explanation to Prithu dasa but was advised by several senior devotees not to try to explain or defend myself but humbly tolerate.”

She says that she sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience these misunderstandings may have caused. “I pray that Prithu Prabhu will be so kind to give this lowly Godsister any small benefit of the doubt that I and so many other devotees are also Srila Prabhupada’s loyal aspiring servants.”
